The region and variety: From a vineyard in Kontariotis, Pieria, in poor, mostly sandy soils and at an altitude of 350 meters, just below the Monastery of Osios Ephraim. 100% Mavrotragano, a variety linked to Santorini but produces more interesting wines away from it. Total production is only 1,300 bottles.
The wine: The wine has a dense fruitiness and excellent integration with the barrel, which is 50% new, 300 liters with very light toasting. Thus, the fruit, which is crystal clear, is in the foreground. Followed by peppery notes that give it an exciting aromatic expression.
How to enjoy it: The wine is in its adolescence. Give it some time in the decanter or let it age for 2-3 years. Bold meats, such as a Black Angus Rangers Valley or an Australian Wagyu, are a must.
