Description

The evening primrose is a biennial wildflower found in North America, with flowers that bloom during the summer (June-September). The oil extracted from its seeds contains essential fatty acids, particularly gamma-linolenic acid, which has a protective effect on skin cells. It also contains palmitic acid, unsaponifiables, and esters of triterpenic acids, as well as polyphenols known for their antioxidant properties.

The composition of evening primrose endows its oil with excellent properties, such as skin care and hydration, while it also has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Evening primrose oil is used for psoriasis and eczema, as it can restore skin softness and elasticity while soothing inflammation. It is suitable for daily use and offers toning, moisturizing, and regenerating effects. It is particularly recommended for smokers and is used during menopause and for conditions such as premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrhea, and amenorrhea.

Evening primrose oil may help reduce cholesterol and be beneficial for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, Raynaud's syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Sjogren's syndrome, as well as other conditions such as ADD, alcoholism, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, asthma, and gastrointestinal disorders.
