Description

Description

• Voltage: 230V/50Hz

• Rated input capacity: 4KVA

• Digital display

• Includes wire clamp, electrode & grounding

Capabilities

MMA / MIG / TIG / MAG welding from the manufacturer Bormann. The MMA electrode method creates thick and strong welds without needing an external gas supply, making it ideal for welding outside the workshop. The MIG method requires the wire to have a special coating (flux) or needs to be connected to an external gas cylinder (e.g., argon, CO2). The MAG method creates welds with a gas supply, making it ideal for indoor welding. The TIG method is suitable for slow welding on aluminum and stainless steel that requires detailed work and does not create splashes. It can operate continuously for 6 minutes at 150A before needing to stop to cool down. Therefore, you may need more time to melt thicker wires and make more passes on thick welds due to the low maximum amperage it supports.

Includes

Contains wire, electrode & grounding clamp.

It takes training to learn how to weld with this particular one. There is a fine adjustment inside the machine, so you find the golden mean after some practice. It doesn't come with any wire inside, so buy some from the start. I tried the Bormann Pro, it seems to work perfectly. Of course, you see a lot of ash around, which I don't know if it's completely normal

  • I got it for 115 euros for amateur and semi-professional use, the only thing I don't have an opinion on is the lift tig because I haven't used it. In mig and mma, it's a very decent machine... Worth it!!!
This particular one is not for workshop use, meaning the internal adjustment (-10 0 +10) is for the voltage and the amount of wire (known as balance). In short, at 0 it's for 60 to 100 amps (factory wire setting), below 60 you set it to the dashed line at - (and fine-tune downwards), above 100 to the dashed line at + where you're at about +3, and so on. The slag is normal because it's no gas and that's its protection.
