Perfection in Every Inch
The optical construction of the lens is based on the design of the Ultrona 21 mm f/1.8 and has been enhanced with the addition of two double aspherical lenses and three made from glass with an extremely low dispersion index. In total, 13 optical elements are arranged in 11 groups. All of these aim to elevate the imaging quality of the lens to a higher level and adapt it to the demands of modern cameras, which feature sensors with resolutions of 48 or 60 million pixels.
Wide-Angle Design
The focal length of the lens, 21 mm, places it between an ultra-wide-angle "15" and a classic "35". The viewing angle of 90.3° and the small minimum focusing distance of 50 cm (on a camera with a rangefinder) allow capturing the atmosphere at the heart of events in photos or videos. The optical distortions, often faced by short focal length constructions, have been almost eliminated in the Nokton 21 mm f/1.4. The lens is ideal for photographing landscapes and architecture. In wedding, street, and reportage photography, it allows capturing the main subject of the photo within its surroundings.
