There was a wait for me to get the new Air, since the 64gb offered by the old one was a mismatch. I mean, in a tablet where all the specifications are meant for 8-10 years, in 3 or at most 5 years I wouldn't even be able to do an update and I would change it due to storage space.
I compared it with the simple iPad 2021 9th (the one with the fingerprint reader and the large bezels on the sides) that I have for the kids:
1. The classic (60hz) amazing Apple LCD screen (no difference side by side with the simple model, a little longer in length). I have the 11-inch model.
2. Stereo speakers (much better than the simple one from 2021, which I had on one side)
3. The M2 is super fast just like all Apple processors. The 3D Mark gave me x3 the frames (i.e., the old one 10 frames, the Air 32 frames) in graphics. Also, Diablo Immortal (for example) that kept crashing randomly (due to the reduced 3gb memory) works without problems on the new Air.
4. I have the Wi-Fi model, I don't know about 5G.
5. Fingerprint sensor, top left, works well on the 11-inch, on the 13-inch model it might be high, OK. The camera is satisfactory with decent sound, OK.
6. I was impressed by how light it feels.
7. Only a charging cable in the package, mini USB on both sides. I connected it directly to a 20w charger I had from an older tablet and it's OK.
I think with these specifications (8Gb memory, 128 storage, M2 processor) you really get a device for a decade just like the old iOS devices, and a decade that can handle everything.
P.S. - Clarification: The Durability rating I gave the device "So and So" does not refer to "Durability over time" which is 10 stars. It is the Durability against drops or mishandling!!!
Update: I installed iOS 18.4 beta and the goodies of Apple Intelligence (being in Europe) started coming, which the iPad will now receive from here on out, but not my relatively recent iPhone 14 Pro Max (OK, I can handle it but it's a serious foul by Apple).
Υπήρξε αναμονή για να πάρω το νέο Air, αφού τα 64gb που πρόσφερε το παλιό ήταν μία παραφωνία. Δλδ σε ένα tablet που όλα τα στοιχεία πάνω του είναι για μία 8-10ετία, σε 3 άντε 5χρόνια ούτε Update δεν θα μπορούσα να κάνω και θα το άλλαζα λόγω αποθηκευτικού χώρου.
Το συνέκρινα με το απλό Ipad 2021 9th (αυτό με τον αναγνώστη δακτυλικών αποτυπωμάτων και τα μεγάλα bezel δεξιά αριστερά) που έχω για τα παιδιά:
1. Οθόλη η κλασική (60hz) εκπληκτική LCD της apple (καμία διαφορά δίπλα δίπλα με τα απλό μοντέλο, λίγο μεγαλύτερη σε μήκος). Έχω το 11 ίντσες μοντέλο.
2. Ηχεία στερεοφωνικά (πολύ καλύτερα από το απλό του 2021, που τα είχα από την μία μεριά)
3. Ο Μ2 είναι ταχύτατος όπως και όλοι οι επεξεργαστές της apple.Το 3d Mark μου έβγαζε x3 τα frames (δλδ το παλιό 10frames το Air 32frames) στα γραφικά. Επίσης το diablo immortal (για παράδειγμα) που κράσαρε συνέχεια τυχαία (λόγω της μειωμένης 3gb μνήμης) δουλεύει χωρίς προβλήματα στο νέο air.
4. Έχω το wifi μοντέλο δεν ξέρω για 5g.
5. Δακτυλικό αποτύπωμα, πάνω αριστερά, πιάνει καλά στο 11ρι στο 13ρι μοντέλο ίσως να είναι ψηλά, ΟΚ. Κάμερα είναι ικανοποιητική με ικανοποιητικό ήχο, ΟΚ.
6. Μου έκανε εντύπωση η αίσθηση του πόσο ελαφρύ είναι.
7. Μόνο καλώδιο φόρτισης στη συσκευασία mini USB και από τις δύο πλευρές. Το συνέδεσα απευθείας σε έναν 20w φορτιστή που είχα από παλαιότερο tablet και είναι ΟΚ.
Νομίζω με αυτά τα χαρακτηριστικά (8Gbμνήμη, 128 αποθηκευτικός, M2 επεξεργαστής) πράγματι παίρνεις μία συσκευή για μία 10ετία όπως ακριβώς ήταν παλαιότερα οι IOS συσκευές, και μία 10ετία που να θερίζει τα πάντα.
ΥΣ - Διευκρίνιση: Το Αντοχή που έχω δώσει στην συσκευή "Έτσι και Ετσι", δεν αφορά την "Αντοχή στο χρόνο" που είναι 10 αστεράκια. Είναι η Αντοχή σε πτώση ή κακομεταχείριση !!!
Update: Έβαλα το ios 18.4beta και άρχισαν τα καλούδια του Apple Intelligence (Ευρώπη γαρ) τα οποία και θα παίρνει πλέον το Ipad απο εδώ και πέρα, αλλά όχι το σχετικά πρόσφατο Iphone 14 pro max μου (οκ θα το αντέξω αλλά είναι γερό φάουλ της apple).
