Ceiling infrared motion sensor IP40. The motion sensor is used for automatic, time-controlled activation of lighting in the presence of a person or other object in areas such as corridors, courtyards, entrances and driveways, garages, etc.

The operation of the passive ceiling infrared motion sensor is based on detecting the movement of warm sources within its range. The effectiveness of detection is influenced by:

  • the amount of heat emitted by the moving object and the ambient temperature,
  • the size of the moving object,
  • the direction and speed of the movement.

The passive ceiling motion sensor shows the lowest performance when:

  • the temperature of the moving object is similar to the ambient temperature (e.g., in a lit room, with a heater within the detection range, etc.).
