In my opinion, this particular lens is perhaps one of the most value-for-money zoom lenses one can buy today for the Nikon Z system. I use it on a Nikon Z6II and it truly makes for an extremely well-balanced combination for almost every type of photography.
I chose it mainly because I wanted an all-around bright zoom lens with a constant F2.8 without having to reach the rather high cost of the Nikon 24-70 S. Although I was initially somewhat skeptical about third-party lenses for the Z mount, this one surprised me positively.
Pros:
- Very good sharpness already from F2.8, especially in the center, and stopping down just a bit makes it really "razor sharp."
- Extremely fast and silent autofocus that works perfectly with the Z6II's eye AF.
- Very nice color rendering, contrast, and micro-contrast with quite pleasant bokeh and good subject separation for a zoom lens.
- Low weight and quite compact size for an F2.8 zoom, which makes its use very comfortable even after several hours.
- Very good close focusing that helps a lot with details, products, or more "creative" frames.
- Good build quality with weather sealing and generally a rather premium feel in the hand.
- The 28-75 focal range I think in practice covers almost everything. From travel and street to events, portraits, and video.
Cons:
- The 28mm sometimes limits me a bit when traveling or in tighter indoor spaces, and here the difference from a 24-70 becomes apparent.
- It shows slight vignetting and barrel distortion at the edges, especially at 28mm, although this is something easily corrected by the lens profile in Lightroom... but in video it is something that will show (not a big deal though because from 35mm and up the distortion disappears).
- The sharpness at the edges is not at the level of Nikon's top S-Line lenses.
Overall, I believe this is a lens that truly offers a lot for its price. It may not have the absolute result or the quality of some more expensive options, but as a whole in terms of performance, weight, speed, and price, it is hard to seriously fault it.
For anyone who wants a truly professional zoom for Nikon Z without breaking the bank, I think it is one of the best choices at the moment.
Ο συγκεκριμένος φακός κατά την άποψη μου είναι ίσως ένας από τους πιο VFM zoom φακούς που μπορεί να αγοράσει κάποιος σήμερα για Nikon Z σύστημα. Τον χρησιμοποιώ πάνω σε Nikon Z6II και πραγματικά αποτελεί έναν εξαιρετικά ισορροπημένο συνδυασμό για σχεδόν κάθε είδος φωτογράφισης.
Η επιλογή του έγινε κυρίως γιατί ήθελα έναν all around φωτεινό zoom φακό με σταθερό F2.8 χωρίς να χρειαστεί να φτάσω στο αρκετά υψηλό κόστος του Nikon 24-70 S. Παρότι αρχικά ήμουν κάπως επιφυλακτικός απέναντι στους third party φακούς για Z mount, ο συγκεκριμένος με εξέπληξε θετικά.
Στα θετικά του:
- Πολύ καλή οξύτητα ήδη από το F2.8, ειδικά στο κέντρο, ενώ κλείνοντας ελάχιστα γίνεται πραγματικά “ξυράφι”.
- Εξαιρετικά γρήγορο και αθόρυβο autofocus που συνεργάζεται άψογα με το eye AF της Z6II.
- Πολύ όμορφο color rendering, contrast και micro-contrast με αρκετά ευχάριστο bokeh και καλο separation του θέματος για zoom φακό.
- Χαμηλό βάρος και αρκετά compact μέγεθος για F2.8 zoom, κάτι που κάνει τη χρήση του πολύ ξεκούραστη ακόμα και μετά από αρκετές ώρες.
- Πολύ καλή κοντινή εστίαση που βοηθάει αρκετά σε λεπτομέρειες, προϊόντα ή πιο “δημιουργικά” κάδρα.
- Καλή κατασκευή με στεγανοποίηση και γενικά αρκετά premium αίσθηση στο χέρι.
- Το εστιακό εύρος 28-75 θεωρώ πως στην πράξη καλύπτει σχεδόν τα πάντα. Από ταξίδι και street μέχρι events, πορτρέτα και βίντεο.
Στα αρνητικά του:
- Τα 28mm καμιά φορά με περιορίζουν λίγο σε ταξίδι ή σε πιο στενούς εσωτερικούς χώρους και εκεί φαίνεται η διαφορά από έναν 24-70.
- Παρουσιάζει ελαφρύ vignette και βαρελοειδή παραμόρφωση στα άκρα, ειδικά στα 28mm, αν και ειναι κατι που διορθώνονται εύκολα απο το προφίλ του φακού στο lightroom.. στο βίντεο ομως ειναι κατι που θα φανεί (όχι κατι το τρομερο ομως γιατί απο τα 35mm και μετα η παρμόρφωση εξαφανίζεται.)
- Η οξύτητα στις άκρες δεν είναι στο επίπεδο των κορυφαίων S-Line φακών της Nikon.
Συνολικά πιστεύω πως πρόκειται για έναν φακό που προσφέρει πραγματικά πολλά για τα χρήματά του. Ίσως να μην έχει το απόλυτο αποτέλεσμα ή το κάποιων ακριβότερων επιλογών, όμως σαν σύνολο απόδοσης, βάρους, ταχύτητας και τιμής είναι δύσκολο να του προσάψει κάποιος κάτι σοβαρό.
Για όποιον θέλει έναν πραγματικά επαγγελματικό zoom για Nikon Z χωρίς να ξεφύγει οικονομικά, θεωρώ πως είναι μία από τις καλύτερες επιλογές αυτή τη στιγμή.
