Drainage membrane (egg carton) is made from a particularly durable material: HDPE – High Density Polyethylene.

Characteristics:

• The classic drainage membrane mainly plays a protective role, and the term "drainage" is somewhat misleading. However, in other uses, with the projections facing downwards, their role is primarily drainage.
• Drainage membranes cannot be considered a sealing product. Accessories such as MS Polymers glues or double-sided adhesive butyl tapes are used for the watertight sealing of joints. Without sealing the joints, their waterproofing contribution cannot be considered. It is always recommended to use a sealing coating, e.g. made from elastomeric bituminous materials, cementitious or self-adhesive membranes. Creating a healthy air layer in front of the foundation is a very positive and desirable benefit.
• Drainage membranes are accompanied by certain accessories that should be used as they improve applications at very low cost.

The most common accessories are:

• Concrete nails with plastic washers.
• Profiles for fixing and holding at the ground surface level.
• MS Polymers glues for watertight bonding of joints.
• Double-sided butyl adhesive tapes for the same application.
