Watercolour paints are water-based colours used for painting on paper. They come in the form of dry buttons, which when wetted with water produce ready-to-use colours almost immediately.
ASTRA school watercolours consist of high-quality, finely ground pigments bound with a water-soluble binder. In addition to pigments and binders, school watercolours contain certain amounts of fillers that cause the colour to become dull as it dries.
Thanks to this, by applying the colour more thickly, you can paint with techniques similar to gouache and in larger dilutions, with techniques typical of watercolours. Watercolours can be used in combination techniques with ASTRA tempera colours, poster paints, and crayons.
ASTRA watercolours are mainly intended for children and school youngsters who are beginning their art education. Thanks to their shape, they can be easily transported, e.g., in students' school bags, and stored for a long time without fear of changing their properties.
