The astaxanthin used in this product is 100% naturally derived from a freshwater green alga called Haematococcus pluvialis. The algae used to make this product are grown in a climate-controlled environment in the Arava Desert.

The three-month cultivation process mimics the natural accumulation of astaxanthin, producing an exceptionally pure, high-quality alga. The astaxanthin produced by this method has the natural 3S-3’S form. In contrast to the natural astaxanthin used in this product, synthetic astaxanthin has the Rs-3S or RS-R’S structure. The difference in chemical structure between natural and synthetic astaxanthin casts doubt on the biological activity of synthetic astaxanthin.
