Darmagi means "what a pity" in the Piedmontese dialect and is said to be Giovanni Gaja's reaction to the arrival of Bordeaux varieties in Barbaresco.
Tasting note from critics: (2015 vintage)
- Based on Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a dark, penetrating color.
- Aromas of ripe blackberry and exotic spices.
- Shows firm, velvety tannins that should continue to evolve over the years.
