Officially Licensed Dungeons & Dragons Mimic Dice Storage Container

“Sometimes a box is just a box, but don’t bet on it.” — The 3rd Rule of Survival in the Wizard’s Cave of X.

Keep your dice safe from any threat with this wonderfully crafted dice container! Mimics are shape-shifting creatures that can take the form of inanimate objects to lure creatures to their doom. In caves, these cunning creatures often take the shape of doors and chests, as they have learned that these forms attract a steady flow of prey.

The container features six burnt orange eyes and a set of sharp teeth and masquerades as a box with silver edges. Open the lid to reveal a shiny purple mouth where you can store your dice and hide your treasures!

Shaped with the finest resin before being hand-painted with great skill, this piece is a must-have for any Dungeon Master.

Review this product
  • Pros:
Beautiful construction, made from quality materials, sturdy enough that if it falls you shouldn't put your foot underneath (it weighs 744 grams).
The mouth that opens all the way back can even be used as a small dice tray, but quite often the dice might sit a bit crooked, so you'll still get an almost clean roll, but some D&D tables might have an issue with this.

    Cons:
Although the interior can fit quite a few dice, its shape isn't very convenient for taking the dice out; I don't have large hands and still could only fit a maximum of 3 fingers inside to grab dice.
Another downside is that it's a bit heavy, even quite heavy for what it is, so if someone is thinking of getting it to carry with them to D&D tables, keep that in mind. (It weighs 744 grams!)

4/5 stars because of the shape of the inside of the mouth—I would have preferred it to hold fewer dice and be more user-friendly.

"Damage" and how I fixed it:
The one I received had a defect and here's how I fixed it. I took the risk with mine because I found it quite annoying, but it's up to your own judgment.

On mine, one of its 'cheeks' (those purple parts sticking out from the top) was moving slightly and made (in my opinion) an annoying click, since the magnets have small gaps between them, and if that part moves even 1-2 millimeters, it will hit the magnet when opening and closing. However, the 'cheek' came off with a little persuasion and care not to break it, I put super glue in the now empty 'gum' and snapped it back in. BE CAREFUL because the space is tight, the piece will snap in suddenly, and the liquid super glue will 'splash' and go everywhere—especially since I used a lot, I almost injured my eye like an idiot. Wear glasses, even sunglasses if needed, the stress and running to the sink is no joke. I got away by a hair since it only got on my eyelid, which I rinsed before it dried.
