The Teak tree is found in Asia. Its leaves have the same effect as catappa leaves but without the brown discoloration of the water.

They lower the pH. They are an excellent food source for shrimp and contain disease inhibitors and tannins that are slowly released into the water.

It also takes a long time for teak leaves to decompose in water.

You place a leaf in the water, over time it will sink, and you replace it when it disappears.
