Jim Barry Wines is a family-owned winery based in the Clare Valley of South Australia. It was founded in 1959 by Jim and Nancy Barry. Today, it manages over 200 hectares of vines across 10 locations in Clare and a 15-hectare vineyard in Coonawarra. Notably, the Lodge Hill vineyard in the eastern ranges of the Clare Valley has soils rich in clay over vertical sheets of ancient slate. The cracks between the slate have filled with soil, providing passage for vine roots and free drainage, creating the ideal environment for low-yielding Shiraz vines.
