Description

RS-485 is a standard that allows the installation of cost-effective local networks and multipoint connections. It offers data transmission speeds of 35 Mbit/s for distances up to 10 meters and 100 kbit/s up to 1200 meters. It uses a balanced differential line over a twisted-pair cable, allowing transmission over relatively long distances up to 1200 meters. The rule is that the speed in bit/s multiplied by the length in meters should not exceed 108.

Specific features:

  • Built-in RS485 port, mini RS485 port, RS485 terminals
  • Welding areas for better utilization of the available space
  • Switch between automatic and manual transmission
  • Switch to disable this shield during the scheduled operation of the Arduino
  • PCB with a gold-plated surface and long terminals that fit the majority of Arduino controllers
  • 16 digital analogies (including an I2C interface)
  • 6 analog IO ports and power supply
  • Operation and programming switch
  • Transmitter-receiver indicator LED
  • Welding area
  • Reset switch
