The Meinl Sonic Energy Octave Steel Tongue is made of high-quality stainless steel. It features a central bass note in the middle plus eight more notes surrounding it. These eight notes consist of two tongues each that produce the tone in two octaves. This creates a wonderful, meditative sound similar to that of a handpan.

At the bottom of the steel tongue, you will find the sound hole, which can be closed with a silicone plug to make the sound even more compact. There are also three silicone feet at the bottom to prevent slipping. You can play the Octave Steel Tongue Drum with mallets or with your fingers. Just place it on a simple surface or in your lap and start playing.
