Maybe I would give a better rating, but ours happened to be a bit defective. The lid opens normally with the photocell, but it does not close by itself, we have to close it by hand.

I have bought several bins, even expensive ones, for the bathroom and they all have issues with the sensor.
At least this one is quite affordable and I say I'll use it as long as it lasts...
For now, it seems very good for its price!

I have had it for 1 year and I am very satisfied. It showed some minor malfunction, we changed the battery but it continued to show some intervals, but after the holidays it works again as before.

For its price, it is quite good. It works just fine. Its disadvantage is that it detects motion from quite high up. As soon as we placed it under the sink, the lid wouldn't close because it "saw" the top part of the sink. In the end, we installed it in the bathroom and it works just fine.
