Wonderful book for newborns. We had some other black and white books, from a different series, but we got this one towards the end of the third month. The baby enjoyed it a lot! He was at the stage where he started to logically see other colors, but nevertheless, he stared at it with interest and focused for quite a while. The quality of the paper is excellent, thick and resistant to the baby's drool. The pages don't get wet, so I am somewhat more relaxed.
Υπέροχο βιβλίο για νεογέννητο. Είχαμε κάποια άλλα ασπρόμαυρα βιβλία, άλλης σειράς, αλλά πήραμε και αυτό πρός το τέλος του 3ου μήνα. Το μωρό το χάρηκε αρκετά! Ήταν στη φάση που ξεκίνησε λογικά να βλέπει και άλλα χρώματα, αλλά παρ'όλα αυτά το χάζευε με ενδιαφέρον και εστίαζε για αρκετή ώρα. Η ποιότητα του χαρτιού εξαιρετική, χοντρό και με αντοχή στα σάλια του μωρού. Δε μουλιάζουν τα φύλλα, οπότε είμαι κάπως πιο ήσυχη.
Ideal as an illustration, but also in terms of material quality. However, I noticed some mistakes in the performance/translation. In the Greek language, we say "κάνει ένα ΠΑΦ" and not "μια ΠΑΦ". In this particular point, I feel awkward and always read it corrected to my baby. Pay more attention in future editions... Also, in the first 4 pages where the texts start with the same phrase "Καλημερούδια....." it is very tiring for the parent to repeat it so many times, while the baby may expect to hear something new with each page change...
Ιδανικό σαν εικονογράφηση, αλλά και σα ποιότητα υλικών. Ωστόσο, παρατήρησα διάφορα λαθάκια στην απόδοση/μετάφραση.. Στη νεοελληνική γλώσσα λέμε "κάνει ένα ΠΑΦ" και όχι "μια ΠΑΦ". Στο συγκεκριμένο σημείο νιώθω αμήχανα και πάντα το διαβάζω διορθωμένα στο μωράκι μου. Περισσότερη προσοχή στις επόμενες εκδόσεις... Επίσης στις 4 πρώτες σελίδες που τα κείμενα ξεκινάνε με την ίδια φράση "Καλημερούδια....." είναι πολύ κουραστικό για τον γονέα να το επαναλαμβάνει τόσες φορές, ενώ το μωρό ίσως περιμένει να ακούσει κάτι καινούργιο με την αλλαγή της κάθε σελίδας...
While it seems ideal for my baby during the winter, both in terms of quality and thickness of the pages, as well as the truly wonderful illustrations, it is unacceptable in the rendering/translation of the original text to include phrases like "The turtle that comes is as fat as a barrel" !!!! Seriously now? Are we teaching body shaming to babies? Shame on them for allowing this translation! They could alternatively say "cute as a barrel" or something similar! We all know in Greece that this specific expression is a form of bullying towards overweight people! I am forced, when we reach this page, to come up with alternative words to read this unacceptable text.. I hope that in future editions this phrase will be modified.
Ενώ φαίνεται ιδανικό για το κάτω του έτους μωράκι μου, τόσο από άποψη ποιότητας και πάχους σελίδων, όσο και από την πραγματικά υπέροχη εικονογράφιση, είναι απαράδεκτο στην απόδοση/μετάφραση του γνήσιου κειμένου, να περιλαμβάνονται εκφράσεις όπως "Χοντρούλα σα βαρέλι είναι η χελώνα που έρχεται" !!!! Σοβαρά τώρα? Μαθαίνουμε body shaming στα μωρά? Ντροπή που επέτρεψαν αυτή την μετάφραση! Θα μπορούσαν εναλλακτικά να πουν "γλυκούλα σα βαρέλι" ή κάτι ανάλογο! Όλοι γνωρίζουμε στην Ελλάδα ότι η συγκεκριμένη έκφραση είναι μέσον bullying σε υπέρβαρους ανθρώπους! Αναγκάζομαι όταν φτάνουμε σε αυτή τη σελίδα, να επινοώ εναλλακτικές λέξεις για να διαβάσω το απαράδεκτο αυτό κείμενο.. Ελπίζω σε μελλοντικές εκδόσεις να τροποποιηθεί αυτή η φράση.

Επίσης στις 4 πρώτες σελίδες που τα κείμενα ξεκινάνε με την ίδια φράση "Καλημερούδια....." είναι πολύ κουραστικό για τον γονέα να το επαναλαμβάνει τόσες φορές, ενώ το μωρό ίσως περιμένει να ακούσει κάτι καινούργιο με την αλλαγή της κάθε σελίδας...
While it seems ideal for my baby during the winter, both in terms of quality and thickness of the pages, as well as the truly wonderful illustrations, it is unacceptable in the rendering/translation of the original text to include phrases like "The turtle that comes is as fat as a barrel" !!!! Seriously now? Are we teaching body shaming to babies? Shame on them for allowing this translation! They could alternatively say "cute as a barrel" or something similar! We all know in Greece that this specific expression is a form of bullying towards overweight people! I am forced, when we reach this page, to come up with alternative words to read this unacceptable text.. I hope that in future editions this phrase will be modified.
Ενώ φαίνεται ιδανικό για το κάτω του έτους μωράκι μου, τόσο από άποψη ποιότητας και πάχους σελίδων, όσο και από την πραγματικά υπέροχη εικονογράφιση, είναι απαράδεκτο στην απόδοση/μετάφραση του γνήσιου κειμένου, να περιλαμβάνονται εκφράσεις όπως "Χοντρούλα σα βαρέλι είναι η χελώνα που έρχεται" !!!! Σοβαρά τώρα? Μαθαίνουμε body shaming στα μωρά? Ντροπή που επέτρεψαν αυτή την μετάφραση! Θα μπορούσαν εναλλακτικά να πουν "γλυκούλα σα βαρέλι" ή κάτι ανάλογο! Όλοι γνωρίζουμε στην Ελλάδα ότι η συγκεκριμένη έκφραση είναι μέσον bullying σε υπέρβαρους ανθρώπους! Αναγκάζομαι όταν φτάνουμε σε αυτή τη σελίδα, να επινοώ εναλλακτικές λέξεις για να διαβάσω το απαράδεκτο αυτό κείμενο.. Ελπίζω σε μελλοντικές εκδόσεις να τροποποιηθεί αυτή η φράση.
