I just finished the last book of The Cruel Prince trilogy, The Queen of Nothing, and I really enjoyed it. It had a lot of action, twists, and it didn’t bore me for a single moment.
The only thing that disappointed me a little was the ending. After everything Jude and Cardan went through, I would have liked to see a few more romantic moments between them and a more complete development of their relationship. I felt that, for the last book of the trilogy, the ending came a little abruptly and rushed.
Nevertheless, I understand it, because the book is not romance but fantasy with a romance subplot.
Overall, I enjoyed it very much and it was definitely a trilogy worth reading.
Μόλις τελείωσα το τελευταίο βιβλίο της τριλογίας The Cruel Prince, το The Queen of Nothing, και πραγματικά το απόλαυσα. Είχε πολλή δράση, ανατροπές και δεν με έκανε ούτε στιγμή να βαρεθώ.
Το μόνο που με απογοήτευσε λίγο ήταν το τέλος. Μετά από όλα όσα πέρασαν η Jude και ο Cardan, θα ήθελα να δω λίγες περισσότερες ρομαντικές στιγμές μεταξύ τους και μια πιο ολοκληρωμένη εξέλιξη της σχέσης τους. Ένιωσα ότι, για το τελευταίο βιβλίο της τριλογίας, το τέλος ήρθε λίγο απότομα και βιαστικά.
Παρ' όλα αυτά, το καταλαβαίνω, γιατί το βιβλίο δεν είναι romance αλλά fantasy με romance subplot.
Συνολικά, το απόλαυσα πάρα πολύ και σίγουρα ήταν μια τριλογία που άξιζε να διαβάσω.

Jude tries to behave herself in the human world but how can she manage when her husband is now the king of the fae who, of course, has exiled her? Cardan is in deep trouble, the fae scheme as if it’s an Olympic sport, and to top it all off, a curse appears that will “mix” everything up! Jude has to save the kingdom, face betrayals, break curses, and — hardest of all — manage her feelings for Cardan without stabbing him (too much). ️️
Political games, drama, magic, snakes, kings making foolish decisions, and a protagonist who saves everyone while trying to figure out if she’s still angry or in love.
And everything is fine and dandy up to this point, but I struggled tooth and nail to hold on to something in this book and not give up on it.
Plain and uninteresting writing, characters with no particular depth, and a plot that tried too hard to weave political intrigue but in the end just managed to go nowhere.
The world, while at many points tried to be magical and exciting, ultimately for me ended up being overly verbose and pointless.
No spark, no passion, no chemistry — and I don’t mean romantic — I mean between the characters in general.
A flat plot that never brought me to a climax, merged information overload, and the introduction of characters that most of the time added nothing to the story.
Honestly, if I weren’t so obsessive, I would have skipped pages in this book without any shame.

Η Jude προσπαθεί να κάτσει φρόνιμα στον κόσμο τον ανθρώπων αλλά πώς να τα καταφέρει όταν άνδρας της είναι πλέον ο βασιλιάς των ξωτικών ο οποίος φυσικά και την έχει εξορίσει;
Ο Γκάρνταν έχει μπλέξει άσχημα, τα ξωτικά κάνουν ίντριγκες σαν να είναι ολυμπιακό άθλημα και εννοείται για κερασάκι στην τούρτα σκάει μια κατάρα που θα τα «ανακατέψει» όλα!
Η Jude πρέπει να σώσει το βασίλειο, να αντιμετωπίσει προδοσίες, να λύσει κατάρες και —το πιο δύσκολο απ’ όλα— να διαχειριστεί τα συναισθήματά της για τον Cardan χωρίς να τον μαχαιρώσει (πολύ). ️️
Πολιτικά παιχνίδια, δράμα, μαγεία, φίδια, βασιλιάδες που κάνουν χαζομάρες και μια πρωταγωνίστρια που σώζει τους πάντες ενώ προσπαθεί να καταλάβει αν είναι ακόμα θυμωμένη ή ερωτευμένη.
Και όλα καλά παιδία και όλα ωραία μέχρι εδώ αλλά πάλεψα με νύχια και με δόντια να κρατηθώ από κάπου σε αυτό το βιβλίο και να μην το παρατήσω.
Πεζή και αδιάφορη γραφή, χαρακτήρες χωρίς καμία ιδιαίτερη ανάλυση και μια πλοκή που έκανε υπερπροσπάθεια να μπλέξει πολιτικές ίντριγκες αλλά στο τέλος κατάφερε απλά μια τρύπα στο νερό.
Ο κόσμος ενώ σε πολλά σημεία προσπάθησε να γίνει μαγικός και συναρπαστικός, τελικά για μένα κατέληξε να είναι υπερφλύαρος και χωρίς κανέναν λόγο.
Καμία σπίθα, κανένα πάθος, καμία χημεία -και δεν εννοώ ερωτική- εννοώ γενικά των χαρακτήρων.
Μια φλατ πλοκή που δεν με έφτασε ποτέ στην κορύφωση, συγχωνευμένη υπερπληροφόρια και «μπάσιμο» χαρακτήρων που δεν έδιναν τις περισσότερες φορές τίποτα στην πλοκή.
Ειλικρινά αν δεν ήμουν τόσο ψυχαναγκαστική θα πηδούσα σελίδες σε αυτό το βιβλίο χωρίς καμία ντροπή.
