The Ureteric Stent Set is used in patients who have or may have a kidney obstruction. An internal drainage tube, called a stent, is placed in the ureter and the tube connecting the kidney to the bladder. This is placed to prevent or temporarily treat the obstruction. Common causes of kidney obstruction include:
- A stone that has moved either autonomously or due to extracorporeal lithotripsy.
- Narrowing of the ureter due to various causes.
- Temporarily after ureteral surgery or after the insertion of a tool.
The Ureteric Stent Set provides high safety, excellent drainage performance, and high comfort upon application. Ureteral stents are mainly applied to restore or maintain the patency of the ureter to ensure proper urine drainage, thereby avoiding damage to the upper urinary tract.
The new rigid Ureteric Stent SET Rüsch is manufactured with integrated stents of stable polyurethane that maintain their shape extremely well while remaining flexible. The largest possible drainage lumens with the smallest possible external diameters, thanks to the ultra-thin walls, provide excellent drainage performance even during long-term use.
