The Ureteric Stent Set is used for patients who have or may have a kidney obstruction. An internal drainage tube, known as a stent, is placed in the ureter which connects the kidney to the bladder. This is placed to prevent or temporarily address the obstruction. Common causes of kidney obstruction are:

• Stone that has moved either spontaneously or by extracorporeal lithotripsy.
• Narrowing in the ureter due to various causes.
• Temporarily after surgery in the ureter or after the insertion of a tool.

The Ureteric Stent Set provides high safety, excellent drainage performance, and high comfort during application. Ureteral stents are mainly applied to restore or maintain the patency of the ureter to ensure proper urine drainage, protecting the upper urinary tract from damage. The new rigid ureteric Stent SET Rüsch is constructed with integrated stents made of stable polyurethane, maintaining its shape while remaining flexible.

The stents offer high compression resistance, even under extreme placement conditions, such as tight strictures. The largest possible drainage lumens with the smallest possible external diameters, thanks to the exceptionally thin walls, ensure excellent drainage performance during long-term use. They minimize tissue irritation while being made from high-quality, biocompatible polyurethane with an exceptionally smooth surface.

Secure fixation during application is ensured by the fixation clamps. The plastic clamps secure the stent and the introducer to the guide wire.
