Composite beams are industrially manufactured products, made from two or three boards or pieces of timber glued together. When wood is glued with industrial adhesives, it is extremely resistant to moisture, capable of creating large pieces and unique shapes.

Composite beams are an excellent choice when high strength and minimal tearing are needed.

Their surface is planed, facilitating work on the wood and ensuring aesthetically correct results.

The composite timber comes from Northern Europe and has certificates of impregnation and endurance.

It is widely used for outdoor constructions such as:

• Pergolas
• Canopies

Beams and columns are manufactured by laminating three or more pieces of kiln-dried timber, tested and joined to form continuous laminations. These pieces are compressed with a hydraulic press.

The impregnated timber does not need to be painted during construction, as it is already impregnated to its core. However, aesthetics may require painting.

After some time, unpainted impregnated timber changes color due to its exposure to external weather conditions. The speed at which this occurs depends on the usage.

Varnishes that impregnate the wood are suggested, which are odorless and environmentally friendly. The only requirement is that the wood is dry before painting.
