Malifaux is a world filled with danger, wonder, and ambition. Connected to Earth through a dimensional rift known as the Great Rift, it is a place where magic flourishes, and where lost technologies and hidden secrets await discovery. For those daring enough to traverse this world, it offers opportunities beyond imagination, but at a high cost, with few emerging unchanged.

Humankind discovered Malifaux when the Great Rift opened in Santa Fé, New Mexico. They entered a barren landscape, but within it lay treasures. Constructions, relics, and spell tomes quickly changed humanity and Earth forever. Mages turned to necromancy, driven by voices urging them to push the limits of death magic. Earth’s fading magic was amplified by Soulstones: beautiful gemstones mined from deep mines, capable of storing incredible amounts of energy. Industry flourished. Then, everything collapsed.

Malifaux is a game of skirmish miniatures set in a horror/steampunk-themed universe. Each player creates a force of 5-7 figures from a faction to battle. A force consists of subordinates and at least one master. Malifaux involves resource management elements, as cards are used instead of dice to resolve skill checks. Each check involves playing a card from a deck and adding it to a figure’s stats. Players can then play cards from their hands to increase the value. The highest value in an opposing check wins. The turn system is unified, with each player alternating turns between activating models.

Malifaux figures are 32mm ‘heroic’ scale miniatures, made from high-quality plastic. The miniatures are pre-painted. Preparation and assembly may be required.
