Description

Nail files are essential for every nail stylist. There are many types on the market, made from different materials and shapes. It is important to pay attention to the grit (or grain) of the file. The numbering on files 80, 100, 180, 240 refers to the numbers that correspond to the number of grains per 1 cm2 of the file. The lower the grade, the coarser the grit.

  • Coarse: 80 grit - used for removing edges and other elements from the nail plate. Primarily used by experienced nail stylists.
  • Medium grit: 100 grit - these are the most commonly selected classic nail files. Used for arching natural nails and for shaping extended nails.
  • Fine: 180/240 grit - have many applications and are very versatile. Ideal for filing edges and smoothing natural nails.
  • Buffers: grades over 300 - these are polishing levels that give shine to natural nails. Used to finish the manicure.

When using nail files of various grits, it's worth remembering that you start with coarse and end with fine. Only this sequence is correct.
