The laguiole, a small village in Aveyron, France, lent its name to the famous folding knife with the curved handle decorated with the legendary bee. Laguiole is not a knife brand but a knife design that many manufacturers produce with different techniques and materials. Claude Dozorme was the first in France to put his name on fillet knives with a fixed, non-folding blade.
