The probiotic L.reuteri Protectis®

BioGaia® ProTectis (chewable tablets) contains L. reuteri Protectis®, the patented probiotic bacterium from the Swedish company BioGaia.

In an in vitro study comparing the viability of 35 different probiotic strains in a simulated human gastrointestinal tract over a period of five days, it was shown that L. reuteri Protectis® was one of only three strains that survived. This was also confirmed in vivo, when its intake by healthy individuals led to significant colonization of the stomach, duodenum, and ileum.

L. reuteri Protectis® colonizes the entire gastrointestinal tract, prevents the growth of harmful microorganisms, activates the immune system, and improves gastrointestinal function. As L. reuteri Protectis® already naturally exists in every human body, it is uniquely adapted to colonize it. L. reuteri Protectis® compared to placebo administration.

Recommended Dosage

    For my younger one, who is 2 years old, it doesn't seem to "work" the same, but it does tighten the bowel movements quite a bit.
