They have contacts on the top and bottom and are very sensitive. I have placed several in the house at various points and programmed them to command the water supply to shut off with an electric valve if they detect a leak. It connects perfectly with Home Assistant and also with Samsung's SmartThings. Google Home recognizes them, but you can't use them in automation like I do with the electric valve.
