Sold in perfectly matched pairs, these exceptional C-2 microphones are ideal for acoustic guitars and drum studio and live sound applications.

What is a condenser microphone?

A condenser microphone is the ideal choice for capturing vocals or acoustic instruments, whether in live settings or recordings. By nature, condenser microphones are much more sensitive than dynamic microphones, allowing them to pick up even the most subtle signals. Thanks to their cardioid pattern (heart-shaped), C-2 microphones capture your source signal while rejecting off-axis sounds that can ruin an otherwise perfect recording. Another difference between condenser and dynamic microphones is that they contain active circuitry that requires phantom power (+48 V DC) for operation. You can power them from any Behringer XENYX mixer equipped with phantom power.

Sound that surprises

Once you connect to your sound system, you will notice that these two pro-caliber microphones have an exceptionally flat frequency response (average boost of 4 dB between 1 kHz-8 kHz). For those of you starting to get involved with condenser microphones, this essentially means that you will have a slightly brighter sound, which will give the perfect shape to cymbals and overhead microphones. Acoustic pianos and choirs will also greatly benefit from this frequency response. The cardioid pickup pattern provides unparalleled sound source separation and feedback rejection. 


The C-2 microphones contain an ultra-low-noise transformerless FET input circuit that can handle extreme dynamics (from 20 Hz to 20 kHz) and have a maximum sound pressure level of 150 dB. The C-2 microphones also feature a switchable low-frequency roll-off for the elimination of ultrasonic noise (microphone handling and wind noise), as well as a switchable 10 dB input attenuation to accommodate hot signals, such as a very loud singer - or an overly enthusiastic cellist.
