This atmosphere is enhanced by the chateau's bells ringing every morning, noon, and night, calling the workers in the fields to prayer. Angelus has been the life's work of eight generations of the Bouard de Laforest family.

The estate has held the top classification of Saint-Emilion since 1954 as a Grand Cru Classe and is one of the four Premiers Grands Crus Classes A in Saint-Emilion. The uniqueness of Chateau Angelus is attributed to its exceptional terroir and passion for producing premium wines.

Carillon d' Angelus was first released in the 1987 vintage, gaining its own identity and reflecting the high standards of the Estate's Grand Vin.
