The Slatefiber Cone – Detailed sound
Exclusive to Focal and made in France, the Slatefiber cone consists of recycled carbon fibers, which are used as a filler between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. In their quest for perfection, our engineers have chosen to use non-woven carbon fibers, all oriented in the same direction for greater rigidity, better damping, and lightness – the “essentials” of an excellent speaker.
The TNF Tweeter – Exceptional treble
Made by Focal in France, the TNF aluminum/magnesium tweeter with inverted dome offers clear and smooth treble. The surround that connects the dome to its base uses a memory material known as Poron. This surround is directly derived from the famous Beryllium tweeter of the Utopia and reduces distortion by a third between 2000Hz and 3000Hz, the high-sensitivity area of the ear. This Focal tweeter guarantees an impressively stable soundstage.
