With the series "Recorded Pages of Modern Greek Literature," we aim to introduce mainly young people to the excellent texts from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, up to the generation of '30.
Papadiamantis is a beloved author, in a fervent way we might say, for generations of Greek readers, and is known to younger ones from the school books where his stories are anthologized.
However, many, mainly younger individuals but also older ones, find it difficult to approach his work due to his language. In an attempt to publish more accessible versions of his stories for our purpose, we dared to realize our old idea of accompanying their publication with a parallel recording of speech and music.
The core of the language remains strong, and while it evolves, it contains the experiences of the people throughout their timeless journey and encapsulates, in a unique way, their spiritual creations, their poetry.
