I have never seen a noisier bin in my life.
It is square-shaped, obviously, so it is meant to rest its back nicely on a horizontal surface; however, when opening the lid, the bottom part of the lid protrudes and thus hits the wall behind it (first noise, metal against wall), immediately the bin gets dragged forward since the lid pushes it against the wall and makes a second loud noise.
The bin is very light, so when you step on it to open it, you inadvertently push it backward. In light of this, I add that the bottom of the bin is plastic (not rubber, which would have kept it in place with friction on the tile), so if you place it on a tile, it simply drags every time you open it, unless of course it is leaning against the wall, in which case you have the noise.
Bad design, impractical. Nevertheless, its closing is silent and slow, as stated, the lid opens all the way up, as it should, and the bin is aesthetically pleasing, hence the 3 stars.
Personally, I am sending it back.
