The Symphonic offers nearly infinite input and gain options as well as balanced and unbalanced input options for the chassis, making it an extremely versatile device for integrating quality turntables into Chord systems. The comprehensive settings are all externally selectable, with options indicated internally by bright LEDs.

A rumble filter removes unwanted low-frequency noise that appears on both channels. The Symphonic phono stage complies with the RIAA curve without the IEC reduction when the rumble filter is set to 'off'.

The response of the IEC curve can be added by setting the rumble filter to 'on'. Depending on the wiring of the turntable arm used, the Symphonic can operate either in unbalanced or balanced mode.
