  • It does what it's supposed to, but the accuracy of both the temperature AND humidity is questionable. I don't know if there's a way to adjust its measurements, but in any case it's off by 3-4 degrees.

It has been incredibly convenient in my daily life. Its measurements seem very accurate and are updated instantly, so you always know what's happening in your space. Its strong point is the automations through the Tapo app; you can easily connect it with other devices and have it perform tasks automatically (e.g., turn on a dehumidifier when humidity rises). Another Tapo sensor that simply rocks.

You need the hub to be able to see the measurements. Nevertheless, it is discreet for placement anywhere. As for accuracy, I would say it is okay, differences with other thermometers in the same space are about a tenth of a degree Celsius. For home use, it is just fine. I have connected it with tapo sockets with a convector heater and I adjust the room temperature without a permanent heating installation

We have a heatwave of 40 degrees and I wanted to have a more accurate temperature measurement for a premature baby who needs 28 degrees. The Midea wifi air conditioner has an indoor thermometer but it is on the device inside the room and gives an approximation. So I got this and I have it above the baby's head and it measures the temperature exactly. I have set a comfort zone and when it goes out of the comfort zone the device notifies you.

I will get another one to have it outside on the balcony to give me the outdoor temperature for the winter so I know how to dress.

I have 5 in total in my spaces and so far they work flawlessly both inside the house and on the balcony and in the garage where the temperatures are significantly lower during the winter months. The battery in the balcony sensor lasted over 1 year and of course when it ran out I received a notification in the tapo app to replace it. From the moment the notification came until the battery was completely depleted, more than a month passed. They also work perfectly with Google Assistant and there is the possibility of automations to maintain the desired temperature and humidity of the space. I would like a little better range only, although I can't say that this is a problem.

Wonderful gadget. I check the temperatures and humidity in every room and accordingly turn on the radiator or air conditioner remotely in the cottage only when needed, resulting in no humidity or odors when I visit it!

The sensor has absolute accuracy, checked with expensive thermometers. I have it on the balcony (in a spot where it doesn't get wet as it is not an outdoor area) and I can see the external temperature on my phone at any time. I will get another one for inside the house.

Humidity has a large deviation of about +10%. The temperature initially had a steady +0.4°C offset from the actual temperature, but with a firmware update it was corrected. Since I already had a socket, I decided to get this along with the hub to control the temperature of a room that I heat with an electric heater. It does the job decently, but I expected much more accuracy considering that the whole system (socket-sensor-hub) cost 40€. In other words, it does not immediately transmit small temperature changes unless the change is 0.3°C. This results in a delay in opening or closing the heating system. Also, the temperature adjustment in the Tapo app is by one degree. It could have decimal settings since the sensor reads the temperature by 0.1. Overall, it's a bit of a hassle to set it up to simulate a regular thermostat. If I had known, I would have gone straight for a socket thermostat, but those are expensive now.

It is used in a patent. Essentially, it became an underwater thermometer for my saltwater aquarium. It fits in a waterproof mobile case along with a moisture absorption bag (necessary) and works perfectly with humidity in the bag at a stable 57%.

The deviation is 0.3 below a reliable thermometer.

Its role is to open a fan to cool the aquarium and a heater to warm it up. These are the Tapo P100 switches. Essentially, it is an automation component.

Update 3/2024: Always check if it gives the correct commands, especially in such sensitive automations as the above. Out of the 400+ commands it correctly executed, it made a mistake in one. It was the command to open the aquarium refill for 30 seconds, and I almost flooded it... Great caution is needed!
