    What is unacceptable for me, however, is the finishing. When you run your hand over the edges of the shelves, they are as sharp as a knife. Unacceptable, especially for a children's product. Also, the screws were very tight and made assembly very difficult. Both issues were solved by my carpenter who happened to be here for some other work. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have left it in the room until the edges of the shelves were sanded and softened.

    Ok, it's a cheap solution but cheap should never mean dangerous.

    Good shelf. Easy to assemble although one dowel was missing and one slat was a few millimeters shorter, resulting in it being a bit wobbly. However, my main problem is that it was supposed to be 70cm but it was actually 74cm, so I couldn't fit it where I wanted. 70cm is the internal measurement of the shelves and not the external dimension of the shelf
