The Devir board game Lacrimosa is a strategy game for 1–4 players, who take on the role of patrons of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Across two timelines, players fund the completion of the missing parts of the Requiem and revisit five periods of the composer’s career, purchasing works and accompanying him on journeys and visits to theatres and courts across Europe. Their goal is to secure their place in history as his most important patrons.
Cards from a limited hand can be used either as actions or as sources of resources, and the hand improves over the course of the game. Players manage their resources and finances to support their own version of the story and their relationship with Mozart.
