In this final part of Hugo Pratt's epic series, the renowned writer returns to themes he explored in a previous story: the quest for the lost continent of Mu, the mythical Atlantis. A sunken continent is not a country we need to discover, but a question we should leave unanswered.
No one knows this better than Corto Maltese, who, despite the years that have passed, always fiercely defends his right to live in his imagination. However, when he finds himself on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, searching for Mu, a mythical land swallowed by water, his companions want to infect him with their thirst for conquest.
A portent hangs over the entire dreamlike story, as if fate had predetermined that this would be Corto Maltese's final adventure. This feeling is underscored by the return of most of the main characters.
