Berling Force surface varnish is a water-based, single-component acrylic varnish with a clear matte finish. It protects brick, concrete, concrete floors and polished cement screed on interior and exterior vertical or horizontal surfaces. Its self-crosslinking acrylic resins provide resistance to mechanical stress, moisture and solar radiation.
It forms a transparent film that does not yellow or alter the surface colour, while providing UV protection with HALS. It has low slip resistance and strong adhesion, attracts little dust and dirt, and withstands mild cleaning agents and weather conditions. It can also be applied to previously painted surfaces after suitable preparation.
The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust, grease and oil. Polished cement screed and new cement-based materials need at least 21 days to dry and reduce their alkalinity. Previously painted surfaces should be mechanically sanded and cleaned before application. On new surfaces, dilute the first coat with 5–10% water by volume, then apply 2–3 undiluted coats. Apply with a brush or roller. Clean tools with soap and water.
