Sapphire is one of the most durable minerals found in nature – on the Mohs 10-point scale, it ranks just behind diamond. The glass features its synthetic version, which is a combination of corundum and aluminum oxide. This high hardness makes the sapphire glass much more resistant to mechanical damage, such as scratches from everyday objects like knives or keys.
