What is an instant water heater?

The instant water heater is a type of water heater that heats water in real-time. It heats only the water that passes through it at that moment. There is no hot water storage tank. This has many advantages, such as energy savings, since only the water that is used is heated, and longer lifespan, as there is no water tank and no accumulation of salts in the resistance and other components.

It operates with electricity and is single-phase.

How It Works

The instant water heater has an inlet pipe for cold water, which passes through the resistance, heats up, and exits through the hot water outlet pipe. A necessary condition for the instant water heater to initially operate is the inlet cold water pressure should not be too low.

The water temperature is regulated by a thermostat so that it does not exceed a maximum value. The temperatures that the hot water reaches are pre-set so that one can use the hot water directly, without needing to mix it with cold water.

The maximum temperature that can be reached for hot water production is 55 °C, while the maximum water flow rate reaches up to 2.2 liters per minute. Indicatively, 38-42 °C degrees are standard for shower use.

Advantages of instant water heaters compared to traditional electric water heaters

  • It is small in size and does not take up much space.
  • There are no energy losses, as only the water being used at that moment is heated. Therefore, we save on the electricity bill. In a traditional water heater, the hot water that is not used goes to waste.

I returned it, they replaced it with a new one and again the same issue, I do not recommend it at all! I have installed a machine of another brand and I could leave two taps open at the same time and it was hot, with this one not even one!

The response in heating the water is satisfactory (I haven't used it above 33 degrees yet), it heats the water almost instantly from the moment you turn it on. Installation must be done by an electrician as it is directly connected to the main panel of the house and the cable must be changed from 2.5 mm2 to 6mm2 because its maximum power is like that of a kitchen.
