Add the optional radar sensor to gain even more features from your camera's parking mode. With the energy-saving mode, the dashcam will enter sleep mode during parking. When the radar detects motion, the dashcam will turn back on. If a collision is detected, the camera will save a 20-second clip (10 seconds before the collision and 10 seconds after the collision) for viewing. If no collision is detected, the unit will turn off again to protect the vehicle's battery. The radar enables extended parking mode for the U1000. The low power consumption makes the U1000 or X1000 top choices for protection in parking mode.
- The optional RADAR sensor further extends parking mode while also recording material before the event.
- The radar can be used in Energy Saving Parking Mode 2.0 (ESP 2.0), supported by the U1000 and X1000 Dash Cams.
- ESP 1.0 allows Thinkware Dash Cams to record for a longer time, but 1.0 only records after a collision is detected, so there is no footage before the incident.
- When the radar detects motion, it will wake the Dash Cam for a short time. If a collision occurs during this time, the radar allows the Dash Cam to record 20 seconds of footage, including what was captured before the collision was detected.
