The Chinese cabbage Michihili is widely known for use in salads, Asian cuisine, etc. It has light-colored tender and delicious leaves, ideal for stir-fries and pickling. When grown in warmer areas, Michihili Chinese cabbages may have an earlier harvest date.

In our garden, we select a spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight to grow it. If we place our seedlings closer than the recommended transplanting distance, we harvest smaller "heads". We avoid planting tomatoes, broccoli, strawberries, and generally other large-fruit plants too close.

To help our crop grow ideally, we can plant celery, marigold, and borage together. It resembles chicory (chichory or radicchio) which belongs to the dandelion family. However, they are different species.
