Very good black ink, dries quickly. It is not waterproof so it can be used in "ink wash" technique of sketching/painting. It is not the cheapest one can find, but it is easily available.

Nice classic blue color - bordering on dark.
Compared to the equivalent Parker, it has a slightly 'purple-ish' shade. You only notice it in direct comparison.
Quite uniform writing.
On matte paper 70-80g, it takes 6-7'' to dry.
Affordable.

Very good ink, at an excellent price and in sufficient quantity.
4 stars because one cannot say that this is the red color we expect from other manufacturers.
Perhaps someone would consider it as a "washed out" red, or as red with a hint of orange in it.
I am including a picture so that someone can judge if this particular shade of red suits them.
Very good ink, but I would like it to be a little more red.... without the shade of "watered down" red.

4. Red Pelikan 4001 Ink (Lamy Al Star, Broad nib)

It has the classic features of the 4001 series (relatively dry), but it tries to be highly waterproof unlike the others with its special composition (more than the corresponding black). However, the color that remains on the paper after drying is gray, and it is good for anyone going for "blue-black" to know this.
