It will definitely be better for use in camping. Sand and water come off it easily. It has pockets at the corners for placing stones so it doesn't move, and in one corner, there's a zippered pocket for storing a phone or keys. Because it is made of nylon, it stays warm when placed on hot sand, and care should be taken if someone is smoking nearby because the ashes from the cigarette can burn it and create small holes.
