Complex, full-bodied, rich, and lavish are just a few words that can describe Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion. It is a historic estate south of Bordeaux in Pessac-Leognac since 1540, consistently offering high-quality red wines.
From the Lestonnac family who founded the estate, it passed on to monastic communities, as Olive Lestonnac dedicated her life and fortune to various charitable and religious activities. In 1607, the Sisters of the Company of Mary Our Lady was founded, which continues to perform charitable works worldwide today.
Upon their arrival, the Lazarist monks began developing the vineyard. After the French Revolution, many owners changed, culminating in development and innovation at the end of the 21st century, combining the care and craftsmanship of the Lazarist monks with a passion for innovation.
The estate was recognized in 2009 as the 6th Premium Cru. It is certainly an incredible experience and it is worth having such a magnificent wine in your cellar.
It is noteworthy that Robert Parker stated that in his personal collection, he has more bottles of La Mission Haut-Brion than any other wine in the world.
