On a moon covered by oceans called Trask, lies the port where the black market of the galaxy operates. This scenario is where the bounty hunter Din Djarin, also known as Mando, is betrayed by fishermen of the Quarren tribe and is rescued by three Mandalorians of the Kryze tribe under the orders of Bo-Katan. This conflict appears in the 11th chapter of the series The Mandalorian, titled The Heiress.

In the same episode, we are introduced to the leader of the Mandalorian rebel faction, who breaks the tenets of the doctrine by removing her helmet and exposing her face. Bo-Katan first appeared in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and reappeared in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels. In both series, the character's voice was provided by Katee Sackhoff, who now brings the character to life in live-action.

In the past, the Mandalorians were divided into two groups: those who followed the pacifistic ideals of their leader, Duchess Satine, and those who glorified their warrior ancestry. Bo-Katan, sister of Satine, belongs to the latter group. When she was exiled, she joined a radical faction and collaborated with the Sith lord Darth Maul, who betrayed his allies and seized power.

To combat the reign of evil, Bo-Katan became the leader of the Mandalorian Resistance, uniting her forces with the Jedi, and this leadership was completed when she became the wielder of the legendary Darksaber. However, with the intervention of the Galactic Empire, Bo-Katan ended up being overthrown and deposed, resulting in a civil war on her world. This situation caused discontent in the Empire.

In the series The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan seeks to reclaim the Darksaber from law enforcement agent Moff Gideon, to regain leadership of her people and unite them once again, according to her ideals.
