  • Variety

    Cabernet Franc

    Often used in blends with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but also produces excellent single-varietal wines. It has a lighter body than Cabernet Sauvignon, with aromas of red fruits (raspberry, cherry), characteristic vegetal notes (pepper, tomato leaves), and sometimes graphite.

    Cabernet Sauvignon

    It produces wines with intense tannins, full body, and characteristic aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, black cherry), often with notes of cedar, mint, or tobacco. They have excellent aging potential.

    Malbec

    Red variety, emblematic of Argentina. It produces wines with a full body, velvety tannins, aromas of plum, blackberry, vanilla, and often chocolate.

    Merlot

    It gives wines with soft tannins, medium acidity, and aromas of red fruits (cherry, plum), often with notes of herbs or chocolate. They are rounder and softer on the palate compared to Cabernet Sauvignon.

Chateau Carbonnieux is one of the oldest and largest estates in the Bordeaux region. Its history spans nearly 8 centuries. Belonging to the Perrin family for 4 generations, the entire vineyard is situated around the castle at the top of a magnificent hill, rich with gravel.
