The "Traditional Songs for Two-Part School Choir" meet the needs of recent years for choral works by Greek composers with their own originality.

Panagiotis Apostolou's work presents traditional songs from various parts of Greece that have been subject to two-part choral processing for similar a cappella voices (children's, youth, and women's choirs).

It introduces children to the art of choral singing with graded difficulty and gives them the opportunity to become familiar with the rich traditional idiom that includes tropes, complex meters, and harmonic interest. At the same time, the final result, in addition to the expected artistic and aesthetic value, aims to effectively assist in the educational process primarily experientially, through choral practice, but also more theoretically, through selected music pedagogical approaches, delving into parameters such as melody, rhythm, rhythmic conduct, dynamic conduct, tonality, tropes, folk modes, morphology, harmony, and interpretation.
