A story about refugees, solidarity, and humanity. The plot unfolds in a refugee camp on an island in the Aegean. In the first-person narrative, the cat Salam tells of life in Syria, the great departure, the dangers faced, their rescue by the coast guard, and their settlement in the camp.

At the same time, through the eyes of the refugee cat who survived the devastating war, friendships among children, human relationships, the solidarity of the island's residents, and the strength of oppressed people are highlighted.

My name is Salam. I came with Mother Baraa and her daughter Amar from Syria to Greece. We left our homeland, which is now ruled by war. We are refugees. This is the story of our long and dangerous escape and our life in the refugee camp somewhere on an Aegean island. Friendships can also blossom and thrive in mud and misery.
