Etnia Barcelona was founded in the 1950s in Barcelona, Spain by Fulgencio Ramo. Fulgencio established the company’s first factory, which produced sunglasses and prescription glasses. His children and subsequent generations managed to transform the single factory into a multinational company that sold glasses internationally.
In 1990, David Pellicer, the founder's grandson, energetically joined Etnia Barcelona and enhanced its reputation with his dreams and plans. His core ideology was to add color to the eyewear collections, avoiding the classic black and brown colors that dominated at the time.
David envisioned a brand focused around humanitarianism and respect for all nationalities, expressing all ideologies and thoughts. Thus, Etnia Barcelona was born as we know it today, inspired by the city of Barcelona - a city open to the world, revolutionary and true to its traditions.
